Free Atlanta BeltLine Bicycle Tour

  • Tours run every Saturday morning, March through November. Tours start promptly at 9:00 am.
  • Tours alternate each Saturday between the Eastside and Westside Trails. Check the registration page for the exact schedule of tours and for announcement of new tours in the future.
  • Eastside Trail tours start and end at the Atlanta BeltLine Center.
  • Westside Trail tours start and end at Gordon White Park.
  • Eastside and Westside tours last about three hours and cover about nine miles.
  • Bike rental options are available.
  • Tours fill up fast so check the schedule and REGISTER HERE

“How to Ride a Bike For Kids” on the Beltline

Is your child struggling to learn how to ride their bike? Through step by step, engaging activities REI’s Instructors will help them with their cycling. Our kid-friendly instructors will provide a combination of personalized and group instruction to help overcome fears, teach important skills such as starting and stopping and help them understand how to maneuver their bikes around obstacles. This may be the only lesson they will need! REI’s fun, unique and proven instruction methods have helped hundreds of kids experience the joy of riding a bike. A properly fitted bike is essential for your child’s comfort and safety. They should be able to sit fully on the seat with their feet flat on the ground. If you are able, please remove training wheels prior to the class.

Skills you’ll learn: Children will learn balance, braking, steering, stopping and starting in a fun interactive class.

Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade FAMILY Globe Lantern Workshop

This lantern workshop is hosted by Chantelle Rytter for the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade on September 21, 2019! This is a good project for kids with a dedicated assistant. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Find inspiration for your lantern design in bird watching through Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum collection in search of inspiration from Athena’s owl, a turkey whistle from West Mexico, an Egyptian ibis made of bronze, and more.
