I don’t have a bike. Can I still participate?

Eastside Trail tours: Bike rentals for Eastside Trail tours are through SoHum Southern, co-operated by our own tour guides, Caroline and Ryan Herrick. Caroline will bill you for the rental - $25 for bike and helmet. Currently, payments are accepted through Zelle or credit card (a $2 fee applies for credit cards). As a reminder, helmets are required by law for participants 16 years of age or under and we strongly encourage all participants to wear a helmet. With any questions regarding rentals, please send Ryan and Caroline an email.

Westside Trail tours: For Westside Trail bike tour participants, bike rental is available through Clutch Bike Rental, located a short walk from the tour’s starting point at Gordon White Park. Clutch will rent a bike and a helmet for the duration of the 3-hour tour for $25 each. After the group has gathered on tour morning, one of the guides will walk those who need to rent bikes over to Clutch to pick up the bikes/helmets.

All the reservations are full. Is there a waiting list?

Not at this time, but please try back as there may be cancellations. We also allow walk-ups the day of a tour.

How should I get to the start? Is there parking?

There is parking available on Hopkins Street on the east side of Gordon White Park for the Westside route. For the Eastside tour, limited free parking is available in the Stoveworks parking lot and on the first level of the Alexan on Krog apartment complex parking deck. If you’re biking or walking, the Atlanta BeltLine Center is accessible directly off the Eastside Trail, just south of Irwin St.

How experienced do I need to be as a cyclist / is this a training ride?

This is not a training ride, but you will still be burning a substantial amount of calories.  It is a moderately paced tour, that follows the hilly terrain around the Beltline corridor.  You will need to be able to ride 10 miles comfortably.

Is this a rain or shine ride?

In the event that it is predicted to be raining heavily at the time that the tour is supposed to start, the tour will be cancelled 90 minutes prior to the tour. Registered participants will be contacted by a guide.

What should I bring/wear?

Riders should bring a bicycle in good working condition, wear comfortable clothing and shoes, wear a helmet, and bring a water bottle. As a reminder, helmets are required by law for participants 16 years of age or under and we strongly encourage all participants to wear a helmet.
