D.H. Stanton Park

Kick Back in a Greenspace Making its own Energy

Located in the Peoplestown neighborhood, D.H. Stanton Park is a shining example of the power of a collaborative community effort. A grassroots campaign resulted in the conversion of a small playground into a robust greenspace adjacent to the Southside Trail, which is presently open to the public as an unpaved trail. It is also the first energy-cost-neutral park in the City of Atlanta, with photovoltaic solar panels providing revenue-generating energy and also serving as a shade structure for park visitors.

PLEASE NOTE: Open unpaved trails have no additional lighting, no pavement, and limited points of access. Visitors can enjoy these pleasant retreats at their own risk and are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear or use a bicycle that can handle rough terrain. Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is not liable for any injury or damage as a result of using these unfinished trails.
