Located a few blocks south of the intersection of the Southside and Westside Trails, Perkerson Park is a gem nestled in the Capitol View neighborhood. The park is brimming with amenities, all under the shade canopy of huge oak trees.
It’s always game time in Perkerson Park, with facilities that include:
- softball & baseball fields
- basketball half-court
- six tennis courts
- disc golf course
Kids can cool off and frolic in the splash pad (open daily, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., from May 1 through October 1). The splash pad was installed thanks to the efforts of Atlanta City Councilmember Joyce Sheperd, the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs, and the Atlanta BeltLine. The splash pad features granite sculptures by local artist Maria Artemis.
The park is loaded with amenities that include: rec center, reservable pavilion, outdoor grills, public restrooms and trash/recycling cans.
