Investing In Local, Small, Independent, Women And Minority Owned Businesses.

The areas surrounding the BetlLine is a destination for commerce for many existing and aspiring small business owners. Despite the existence of many small business support organizations within the City of Atlanta, there is no dedicated business resource for BeltLine-specific economic activities. ABI views this as a missed opportunity for a non-traditional economic development approach and is committed to evolving its economic development work to invest in local, small, independent, women and minority owned businesses.

The BeltLine Business Solutions Office is part of the BeltLine’s economic inclusion framework, which consists of four pillars:

  1. small business support
  2. commercial district support
  3. workforce development, and
  4.  commercial affordability.

Through programs and activities that align with these pillars, the BeltLine’s goal is to spur inclusive economic growth for small, local, independent businesses– with an emphasis on Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE)– around the corridor; contribute to wealth building for communities in ABI’s Equity Priority Areas; and drive further job creation through their growth and development.
