Northeast Trail Segment 3 and Connector Trails: This federally funded portion of trail includes the mainline trail of the Atlanta Beltline 22-mile loop, called Northeast Trail – Segment 3, as well as connector trails to MARTA Lindbergh Center station, PATH 400, and to the Armour-Ottley district. The $25M RAISE Grant agreement was executed in January and GDOT issued a notice to proceed to the Beltline. The team issued an invitation to bid for construction procurement in April, with construction expected to mobilize this summer. This is a long and complex project, one of the Beltline’s largest, and the expected construction duration will be 42 months.

Southside Trail Segments 2+3: This 1.9-mile section runs from west of I-75/85 to Boulevard and was released for construction in May of 2024. While some unexpected environmental cleanup work has delayed the schedule, the trail will be open and accessible during the FIFA World Cup 26™. Mainline trail pours and tie in work at the Milton and Boulevard crossings are complete, with the McDonough access point in a final stage of construction. Punch list, follow on work, and other landscaping work will continue after the trail is open. Additional landscaping, including the addition of trees and shrubs, will continue in the cooler Fall weather through the Spring of 2027. We will continue to keep the community informed on progress.

Southside Trail – Segments 4+5: This trail segment runs from Boulevard to Glenwood and is 1.2 miles long. This trail segment runs from Boulevard to Glenwood and is 1.2 miles long. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on April 16. Railing installation is underway at United and is expected to be completed by mid-June. The contractor continues to work on punch-list and close-out items.

Westside Trail – Segment 6: This trail connects the Westside Trail at Lawton Street SW to the Westside Trail at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard/White St. This 0.6-mile section of trail is open, but is a sidewalk connection, diverted off the rail corridor with ramp connections to an adjacent sidewalk. This project will construct a trail connection on the rail corridor. The 90% design milestone has been reached. In January, we began trimming landscaping, adding new gravel, and putting up temporary poles in this corridor for lighting and cameras on the interim trail until the permanent trail construction work is mobilized. Construction of a new Beltline trail at this location will likely start in the fall of this year, after construction permitting and solicitation of a contractor is complete. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed in early 2028. Landscaping work will extend into 2028.

Northwest Trail – Segment 1: This 0.8-mile section runs from the west side of Peachtree Parks Apartments south along Peachtree Creek. The apartment side of the trail became available to Peachtree Park residents for use in April. Due to bridge engineering issues, construction of the bridge at Peachtree Creek and the completion of the northern elevated trail connecting to Kinsey Court will push into Fall of 2028. All infrastructure associated with the trail is now complete. Elevated trail concrete pours are complete for the footings and piers.

Northwest Trail – Segment 2: This 0.7-mile segment starts at the southeast corner of Bobby Jones Golf Course and runs east along Colonial Hills Circle. Design plans are complete, and real estate acquisition and easement work is ongoing. The Beltline has signed an agreement with GDOT for the construction of a new tunnel passing under Peachtree Street for the trail. GDOT is actively working on procuring real estate agreements with property owners for the bridge work. Portions of this segment – section 2A and 2c - are shovel-ready, with all real estate work complete, and section 2A starting at Bobby Jones will go out to bid in early June.

Northwest Trail – Segment 3: This segment runs 1.2 miles from Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing’s parking lot to Tanyard Creek, crossing under I-75. The first portion, between Trabert and Northside (Section 3A), is complete and open. A contractor has been hired for Section 3A, with construction mobilization expected this summer.

Northwest Trail – Segment 4: This 0.9-mile segment links English and Culpepper to the Monday Night Brewery parking lot at Trabert. We have split Segment 4 into Section A and Section B to provide opportunities for a smaller construction firm to bid on Section B. Construction on Section 4A is underway, with a completion date expected in August of 2027. Trail concrete pours are in progress, along with foundations and columns for the bridge at the railroad crossing. Bridge redesign and all real estate work required to complete the trail is complete.

Oakland City MARTA Station + Murphy Connector Trail: This connector trail is expected to stretch 1.31 miles in total, beginning at the existing Southwest Trail access point at Allene Ave SW and splitting into two sections. Design is underway, with the 60% set under review and 90% design expected by early fall. Coordination is ongoing with the Atlanta Department of Transportation on the Allene Intersection, which is a Moving ATL Forward project. A site walk was held in April, and extensive real estate coordination is in progress. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with trail completion expected in mid-2028 and landscaping work extending into early 2029.

Enota Park: An eight-acre park under construction on the west side of Atlanta, Enota park has been broken into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. In the upper parcel, boardwalk construction, streambank restoration, and the overlook of the stream are complete. Kudzu removal and grading work for final landscapes and the lawn are ongoing. Handrails are in final approval. In the middle parcel, stormwater and grading work is complete with stair and walkway concrete to be completed by June. In the lower parcel, the handrails, pavilion, and walls are ongoing. Building shells are complete, with interiors in progress. Trees Atlanta began planting trees in April, and the team aims to complete the park by the late summer or early fall of 2026.

Shirley C. Franklin Park (formerly Westside Park) – Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track: Phase 1 of this project will ultimately create a world-class asphalt pump track facility, jump lines, a bicycle playground, hiking trails, and a skills course designed for riders of all ages and abilities. Construction on this phase is underway and on schedule, with bike park elements and finer grading in progress. Fundraising is ongoing to fund the entire project and all desired elements and phases of work, with Phase 2 consisting of a 2.25-mile mountain bike trail for various skill levels, and hiking trails. The design of Phase 2 of the Bike Park is being contracted currently, with design work expected to start in late June or early July.
