Below you will find recent updates and photos of each of our Atlanta BeltLine projects in construction or design along with links to get more general information about each project. Additionally, you can explore current design and construction projects via map and list view here. These projects play a pivotal role in furthering the Atlanta BeltLine vision to be the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive, and sustainable city life.

- Northeast Trail – Segment 1: Design of this segment, between Monroe Drive and Westminster Drive is at 30%.
- Northeast Trail – Segment 2: Construction bids are being reviewed for Phase II work on this segment, which will extend the paved trail north to Mayson Street and south to Westminster Drive, bringing it to a total segment length of 1.2 miles. Construction is still anticipated to start by the second quarter of this year if final permits are received.
- Northeast Trail – Segment 3: The mainline Northeast Trail (NET3 on the map above) and corresponding connecting trails (NET C1, C2, C3, and C4) is now at 30% design.

- Reynoldstown Community Space: ABI’s Arts and Culture department held two public meetings on this greenspace on the Eastside Trail just north of Memorial Drive. The first was held virtually on February 3. You can view the recording and download the presentation. On February 5, attendees gave feedback during an in-person workshop on the site of the future community space. The art and design firm, make/do studio, presented their concept and solicited input on what people would like to see in the space.
- Transit planning: On February 8, contractors for MARTA began geotechnical work on the eastside corridor as part of transit planning for the future light rail system. More info can be found in this blog post: MARTA performing field investigations along eastside corridor.
- Ponce Streetscapes: An Invitation to Bid (ITB) will be posted shortly for a construction firm to execute the streetscape improvements.
- Southside Trail – Segment 1: By mid-March, the installation of lights and cameras will be complete on the access trails leading into the Southside Trail. A connecting sidewalk will be added at Manford Road, for which design and permitting work is complete and we are currently pricing the work for construction.
- Southside Trail – Segments 2 – 3: The construction of Segments 2 and 3, which is tied to federal dollars and the federal construction process, is targeting a construction bid date of summer 2023.
- Southside Trail – Segments 4 – 5: Verizon will start relocating fiber lines in March as part of pre-construction activities. Crews will installing the work by boring the conduit. Impacts to trail users should be minimal. An Invitation to Bid (ITB) is currently open in search of a firm to conduct brownfield remediation work. Kimley Horn, the design consultant, anticipates finalizing construction documents for Segments 4 and 5 in the next month. An ITB for construction will follow once the following is complete: permitting and advanced construction work, which includes brownfield remediation and two fiber relocation projects. The Segment 4 and 5 project scope includes the rebuilding of the bridge of United Avenue.

- Southside Trail – Segment 6: ABI completed interim safety improvements to this segment last May that runs the length of Bill Kennedy Way between Glenwood Avenue and Memorial Drive, however, traffic incidents continue to take place at the I-20 offramp. Mayor Dickens, Councilmember Bakhtiari, Atlanta DOT Commissioner, ABI CEO Clyde Higgs, ABI staff, and other met on site to discuss possible solutions.
- Boulevard Crossing Park: Design documents are anticipated to be at 100% completion before the end of the year.
- Westside Trail – Segment 3: Construction on this 1.2-mile segment is substantially complete, except for the bridge work over the railroad corridor at Marietta Boulevard. ABI and PATH Foundation continue to work with CSX and Norfolk Southern to finalize permitting for this work. The City of Atlanta also has ongoing work on Marietta Boulevard. Once railroad permits are in hand, and the City work is complete, the bridge work will be scheduled. We will continue to keep the community informed as we know more on timing for construction of this last piece of the trail.
- Westside Trail – Segment 4: Design is at 60% for this segment of the Westside Trail that will connect from Washington Park to the southern end of Segment 3. The next public meeting will be held March 7. Click here for registration.

ABI and PATH Foundation are receiving and analyzing the feedback for this current round of community engagement and hope to finalize the preferred alignment priority order by April. A community meeting with be scheduled to share the findings.

- CSX will be removing and replacing the wooden railroad trestle that runs between Tanyard Creek Park and Ardmore Park and over the Atlanta BeltLine Northside Trail. On February 28, the contractor, Brasfield Gorrie, will close the trail and begin work, which is expected to last through 2022. Detour signs will be posted with routes, which will include using Collier Road and Ardmore Road to navigate around the closure. Construction hours will be 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. City of Atlanta Parks Department, along with PATH Foundation, are the project leads with CSX and Brasfield Gorrie. Is there an update on Enota Park? It has been “shovel ready” since late 2019.
Hi Emily – buildout of the park is contingent upon funding and fundraising is ongoing.
I called this in a couple of months ago, but I would like to see the bike lanes painted along the street inside the new Westside park redrawn. They are way too narrow and appear to only be approx 3 feet wide. These should be at least 4.5 to 5 ft wide for bicycles to pass safely.

What is status of silver comet connection to atlanta road and plant Atkinson road/log cabin
If the Westside beltline segment along white street is considered part of the main beltline corridor, shouldn’t it also have lighting and security cameras? Thanks!
