Southside Trail
Southside Trail Segments 2+3: This project, which extends 1.9 miles from west of I-75/85 to Boulevard, was released for construction in May of 2024. Wall construction is underway at the Pryor Road Bridge, Grant Terrace, and the Skylark Apartments near Boulevard. Rough grading has started at Segment 2 near Pittsburgh Yards®. Unexpected environmental remediation work has affected the schedule, but the trail will be open and accessible during FIFA World Cup 26™, with some construction activities possibly continuing afterward. We will continue to keep the community informed on progress.

The mainline trail is expected to be open in early 2025, with the United Avenue ramp to be closed for access until all final work is complete. This month, the contractor began grading the pond and constructing the final walls connecting to the United Avenue sidewalk. This work will continue through early 2026. The Ormewood Avenue pedestrian bridge deck has been poured, and handrail installation has begun. The ramp and stairs have also been poured. Duct bank installation and grading for the upcoming trail concrete placement between Ormewood Avenue and Glenwood Avenue began in November and will be completed by early December. Trail concrete placement will be completed in December. Underground utility conflicts have delayed completion of the United Avenue ramp, with ramp construction now expected to continue into early 2026, likely February.

Southside Trail - Segment 6 (Bill Kennedy Way at I-20): This project includes a new pedestrian bridge over I-20, running parallel to the existing vehicular bridge at Bill Kennedy Way. The trail section running through Glenwood Park will also be improved to meet Beltline trail standards. The project will be completed in two sections: Section A will include work in the ATLDOT right-of-way south of I-20 and Section B is the GDOT right of way from I-20 north to Memorial Drive. Design drawings are expected to be completed in 2026. GDOT reviewed the Preliminary Field Plan Review on November 19, 2025. Right-of-way plans were submitted on October 31, 2025; review comments typically take 30–60 days, with approval expected by January 2026. Construction will not start until after FIFA events scheduled for June 2026 are complete. The construction duration for each phase of work is expected to be between 16-18 months.
Southside Trail – Hank Aaron Access Point: This access point will connect Segment 2 of the Southside Trail to the Hank Aaron Drive sidewalk, aligning with the signalized crosswalk serving the MARTA Summerhill BRT. This project began as a collaboration between the Beltline, the developer, and MARTA. Design was completed in November, and construction will occur after FIFA World Cup 26™.
Westside Trail
Westside Trail – Segment 6: This trail will be 0.6 miles in length and connects the Westside Trail at Lawton Street SW to the Westside Trail at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard/White St. This section of trail is open but is a sidewalk connection
,diverted off the rail corridor with ramp connections to an adjacent sidewalk. This project will construct a trail connection on the rail corridor. A 30% design milestone has been reached, withdesign expected to be completed by Spring of 2026. Construction will not start until after FIFA events schedule for June 2026. Construction is tentatively scheduled to be completed by late 2027 or early 2028. Landscaping work will extend into 2028.

Northwest Trail
Northwest Trail – Segment 1: This section of trail is 0.8 miles in length, beginning at the western edge of Peachtree Parks Apartments and running south along Peachtree Creek. The trail is under construction. The trail work on the apartment side of the creek is substantially poured, with additional trail pours scheduled through December. Due to unforeseen conditions recently encountered on the project, construction will push into 2027.

(Photo Credit: ABI Staff) Northwest Trail – Segment 2: This segment begins at the southeast corner of Bobby Jones Golf Course and travels east along Colonial Hills Circle for 0.7 miles. The design drawings are complete, with real estate purchases and easement work in progress. We have split the segment into three sections. Section A is from Bobby Jones to the northeast end of the Georgia Power Company substation. Section B is the Peachtree Road crossing, and Section C is from Peachtree to Peachtree Park Apartments. Section B includes the Peachtree Road crossing which requires a new GDOT bridge. The Beltline has signed an agreement with GDOT for the crossing under Peachtree Street for the trail. GDOT should begin work on the right-of-way acquisition by February 2026. We are planning to put portions of this project out to bid for construction in 2026.
Northwest Trail – Segment 3: This section of trail begins at Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing’s parking lot and ends after crossing under I-75 at Tanyard Creek, for a total length of 1.2 miles. Design is completed with drawings
permitted and the real estate acquisition will be finalized in January. The first section of the trail (Section 3A) between Trabert and Northside is completed and open. Section 3B will be posted for construction bid in January 2026.
Northwest Trail – Segment 4: This 0.9-mile-long trail begins at English and Culpepper and ends at the parking lot of Monday Night Brewery at Trabert. We have split Segment 4 into Section A and Section B to provide opportunities for a smaller construction firm to bid on Section B. The construction manager, F. H. Paschen, is under contract for Section A from English Street to Howell Mill. We have issued a notice to proceed to start construction of Section 4A and a ground
breaking was held on October 30, 2025.

Northwest Trail – Segment 5: This trail segment begins at the intersection of Marietta Blvd and Huff Rd, traveling to Ellsworth Industrial and English Street for a total of 0.7 miles. Construction started in May of 2024 and is now complete, with a ribbon cutting held on October 30, 2025. Punchlist work and additional projects to finalize the trail are in progress including adjustments to the stainless steel railings and the addition of fencing on the property boundary.
Beltline Connector Trails + Access Points
Oakland City MARTA Station + Murphy Connector Trail: This connector trail is expected to be 1.31 miles in length in total, beginning at the existing Southside Trail access point at Allene Avenue SW and splitting into two segments. The first segment of the trail is .45 miles in length and starts at Allene Avenue SW, crosses over Sylvan Road SW and terminates at Murphy Avenue. The second segment of the trail is .86 miles in length and starts at Allene Ave SW, runs adjacent to Avon Ave, crosses over Sylvan Road SW, crosses over Dill Ave and terminates at Murphy Oakland City MARTA station. Design is expected to run through early 2026 and construction to be completed in mid-2028. Landscaping work will extend into the winter months of 2028. This project is funded through design in the most recent Beltline Strategic Implementation Plan. Although, construction funding has not yet been identified.

Parks
Enota Park: Enota Park is an eight-acre park that is under construction on the west
side of Atlanta. The park has been broken into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. In the upper parcel, the boardwalk is nearly complete, streambank restoration is finished, kudzu removal is underway, and the creek overlook is about 80% complete. In the middle parcel, stormwater and grading work are ongoing. In the lower parcel, stormwater piping has been installed, grading is underway, and retaining walls are being poured and clad with stone. The team is working to complete the park by summer of 2026.
