Below you will find recent updates and photos of each of our Atlanta Beltline projects in design or construction, along with links to get more general information about each project. These projects play a pivotal role in furthering the Atlanta Beltline vision to be the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive, and sustainable city life.
Note that some projects have been removed to focus on monthly progress, and project expectations are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions. For the latest updates, visit their project pages.

Northeast Trail
Northeast Trail Segment 3 and Connector Trails: This federally funded portion of trail includes the mainline trail of the Atlanta Beltline 22-mile loop, called Northeast Trail – Segment 3, as well as connector trails to the MARTA Lindbergh Center station, PATH 400, and to the Armour-Ottley district. All real estate has been purchased, and the design is 100% complete. A new RAISE grant agreement has executed, and we have received the notice to proceed for the construction bid from the Georgia Department of Transportation. We are planning to put the project out to bid for construction in early April. This is a long and complex project, one of the Beltline’s largest, and the expected construction duration will be approximately 42 months.
Southside Trail
Southside Trail Segments 2+3: This 1.9-mile section runs from west of I-75/85 to Boulevard and was released for construction in May of 2024. Final wall work is in progress at Hill Street and the Skylark Apartments near Boulevard. Trail has been poured to the east of I-75/85, and landscaping continues between Pittsburgh Yards® and the Pryor Road bridge. Trail concrete is expected to be finished by April 2026, with the Milton and Boulevard crosswalks completed by early May. While some unexpected environmental cleanup work has delayed the schedule, the trail will be open and accessible during the FIFA World Cup 26™. Punchlist work will extend into June. We will continue to keep the community informed on progress.

Trail concrete between United Avenue and Ormewood Avenue is finished, and the remaining walls connecting to the United Avenue sidewalk have been built. The stainless steel railing is currently being manufactured off-site, with installation expected to begin in late February. The stairs at the Ormewood access point are complete, and granite installation is underway. Preparation work and trail pouring are underway between Ormewood Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, with trail concrete expected to be completed this month. Recent rain and freezing temperatures have delayed some concrete activities, which serve as the foundation for all work that follows. Concrete can only be poured when temperatures are at or above 40 degrees, and wet soil conditions after rainfall require additional drying time before work can safely resume. These weather-related impacts have pushed certain activities, including railing work at the United Ramp, into the spring. Once lighting and cameras are installed and operational, the trail will open to the public.

Westside Trail – Segment 6: This trail will be 0.6 miles in length and connects the Westside Trail at Lawton Street SW to the Westside Trail at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard/White St. This section of trail is open but is a sidewalk connection diverted off the rail corridor with ramp connections to an adjacent sidewalk. The 60% design and analysis milestone has been reached. In January, we began trimming landscaping, adding new gravel, and putting up temporary poles in this corridor for lighting and cameras on the interim trail until the permanent trail construction work is mobilized. The lights and cameras will be reused on the final permanent trail. Construction of a new Beltline trail at this location will not start until after FIFA events scheduled for June 2026.

Northwest Trail
Northwest Trail – Segment 1: This 0.8-mile section runs from the west side of Peachtree Parks Apartments south along Peachtree Creek. Construction is underway across the entire segment, and all trail-related below-grade infrastructure is complete. The apartment side of the trail will be available to Peachtree Park residents for use by April 2026. "Due to unforeseen conditions recently encountered on the project, construction of the bridge at Peachtree Creek and the northern elevated trail connecting to Kinsey Court will push into 2027 or early 2028. Much of the concrete structure for the elevated trail is complete, but will be put on hold to allow crane access to the bridge.

Design plans are complete, and real estate and easement work are ongoing. The Beltline has signed an agreement with GDOT for the construction of a new tunnel under Peachtree Street for the trail. GDOT should begin work on the right-of-way acquisition by April 2026. Portions of this segment will be shovel-ready by March, with all real estate work complete, and will likely go out to bid for construction later this year.
Northwest Trail – Segment 3: This 1.2-mile segment runs from Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing’s parking lot to Tanyard Creek, crossing under I-75. The first portion, between Trabert and Northside (Section 3A), is complete and open. Design and permits for the remaining portion (Section 3B) are complete, with property acquisitions expected to be finalized in February. Because this is a longer section of trail, the project team is working to start construction as soon as possible. The construction solicitation was posted for bid in early February, with bids expected by Spring 2026.

It has been divided into two sections to allow smaller construction firms to bid on 4B. Construction is currently underway on Section 4A, and all remaining property purchases are expected to close by February 2026.

Beltline Connector Trails + Access Points
Oakland City MARTA Station + Murphy Connector Trail: This connector trail is expected to stretch 1.31 miles in total, beginning at the existing Southside Trail access point at Allene Ave SW and splitting into two sections. The 30% design milestone was reached in December. Coordination is ongoing with the Atlanta Department of Transportation on the Allene Intersection, which is a Moving ATL Forward project. Design is expected to be complete by summer of this year.

Parks
Enota Park: An eight-acre park under construction on the west side of Atlanta, Enota park has been broken into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. In the upper parcel, the boardwalk is nearly complete, streambank restoration is finished, kudzu removal is ongoing, and the creek overlook is waiting on approved handrails. In the middle parcel, stormwater and grading work has started and will wrap up in March for tree placements. In the lower parcel, stormwater piping has been installed, grading is ongoing, and retaining walls are being poured and clad with stone. The pads for the maintenance building are being poured, utilities are in progress, and framing started in January. The team is working with Trees Atlanta on the planting schedule for the middle and lower parcels and aims to complete the park by the summer of 2026.

Franklin Park (formerly Westside Park) – Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track: The project consists of a 2.25-mile mountain bike trail for various skill levels as well as a pump track facility for teaching the sport of mountain biking. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on January 22nd for Phase 1 of the park’s construction, which will create a world-class asphalt pump track facility, jump lines, a bicycle playground, and a skills course designed for riders of all ages and abilities. Grading and groundwork have begun, and fundraising will continue to fund the entire project and all desired elements and phases of work.

Streetscapes
Ponce de Leon Ave: This project involves 0.68 miles of streetscape work along Ponce de Leon, as well as a new ramp providing access to the Eastside Trail from Ponce de Leon. The ramp is currently closed for public use as the contractor replaces much of the grated surface of the ramp.
Trail Lighting and Camera Projects
Wylie Street Permanent Cameras: Starting January 5th, the Beltline is adding cameras to the Southeast Trail at Wylie Street. Because this is a narrow section of the trail, there are possible interim detours to the sidewalk across the street. Work is expected to be complete by May 2026.
Northeast Trail "Gravel Rail Trail" Permanent Lighting and Cameras: In January, we will also trim landscaping, add new gravel, and put up permanent lights and cameras along this popular trail. The trail will be fenced off during construction, with the mainline trail used as the 'detour.' Work is expected to be complete by May 2026.
Westside Trail - Camera Replacement: The cameras on the original Westside Trail will be replaced beginning January 5th. There will be minimal impact on trail users, with appropriate safety barriers in place. Work is expected to be complete by April 2026.
Westside Trail - Segment 6: This month, we will begin trimming landscaping, adding new gravel, and putting up temporary poles in this corridor for lighting and cameras on the interim trail until the permanent trail construction work is mobilized.
