Southside Trail

  • Southside Trail Segments 2+3: This project, which extends 1.9 miles from west of I-75/85 to Boulevard, was released for construction in May of 2024. Wall construction is underway at the Pryor Road Bridge, Hill Street, and the Skylark Apartments near Boulevard. Rough grading started south of D.H. Stanton Park, and the 1st trail concrete pour at Pittsburgh Yards® Segment 2 occurred in December. Landscaping is in progress between Pittsburgh Yards and the Pryor Road bridge. Trail concrete is scheduled to be poured by March 2026, with the Milton and Boulevard crosswalks expected to be completed by mid-April. Unexpected environmental remediation work has affected the schedule, but the trail will be open and accessible during FIFA World Cup 26™, with some construction activities possibly continuing afterward. We will continue to keep the community informed on progress.

  • Southside Trail – Segments 4+5: This trail segment runs from Boulevard to Glenwood and is 1.2 miles long. The mainline trail is expected to be open in early 2026, with the United Avenue ramp to be closed for access until all final work is complete. The concrete trail between United Avenue and Ormewood Avenue has been poured, including the United Avenue ramp. Work is now shifting to grading the pond and constructing the remaining walls, tying into the United Avenue sidewalk, which will continue through early 2026. The Ormewood Avenue pedestrian bridge deck has been poured, and handrail installation is underway. The stairs at the Ormewood access point have been poured, and granite installation has begun, with the ramp scheduled to be poured in January. Duct bank installation and grading for the upcoming trail concrete placement between Ormewood Avenue and Glenwood Avenue have begun, with the trail concrete work continuing through January. Once lighting and cameras are installed and operational, this section of the trail will open to the public.

    Westside Trail

  • Westside Trail – Segment 6: This trail will be 0.6 miles in length and connects the Westside Trail at Lawton Street SW to the Westside Trail at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard/White St. This section of trail is open but is a sidewalk connection diverted off the rail corridor with ramp connections to an adjacent sidewalk. This month, we will begin trimming landscaping, adding new gravel, and putting up temporary poles in this corridor for lighting and cameras on the interim trail until the permanent trail construction work is mobilized. The lights and cameras will be reused on the final permanent trail that is currently in design. Construction on the paved trail will not start until after FIFA events scheduled for June 2026.

Northwest Trail

  • Northwest Trail – Segment 1: This section of trail is 0.8 miles in length, beginning at the western edge of Peachtree Parks Apartments and running south along Peachtree Creek. The entire trail is under construction. The trail on the apartment side of the creek has less than 300 ft of concrete left to pour in January. This section will be available to Peachtree Park residents for use by April 2026. Due to unforeseen conditions recently encountered on the project, construction of the bridge at Peachtree Creek and the northern elevated trail connecting to Kinsey Court will push into 2027 or early 2028.

  • Northwest Trail – Segment 2: This segment begins at the southeast corner of Bobby Jones Golf Course and travels east along Colonial Hills Circle for 0.7 miles. The design drawings are complete, with real estate purchases and easement work in progress. The Beltline has signed an agreement with GDOT for the crossing under Peachtree Street for the trail. GDOT should begin work on the right-of-way acquisition by March 2026. ABI purchased real estate is expected to close by March 2026, and we are planning to put portions of this project out to bid for construction this year.

  • Northwest Trail – Segment 3: This section of trail begins at Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing’s parking lot and ends after crossing under I-75 at Tanyard Creek, for a total length of 1.2 miles. The first section of the trail (Section 3A) between Trabert and Northside is completed and open. Section 3B design is completed with drawings permitted. Real estate is to be finalized in February. Because this is a long section of the trail, we are working to get it started as soon as possible. We will be soliciting a construction bid in February and expect to be mobilized and start construction by the middle of 2026. All power poles have been cleared off Northside Drive by Georgia Power – a two-year project now complete!

  • Northwest Trail – Segment 4: This 0.9-mile-long trail begins at English and Culpepper and ends at the parking lot of Monday Night Brewery at Trabert. We have split Segment 4 into Section A and Section B to provide opportunities for a smaller construction firm to bid on Section B. Construction of Section 4A is underway, and a groundbreaking was held on October 30, 2025.

  • Northwest Trail – Segment 5: This trail segment begins at the intersection of Marietta Blvd and Huff Rd, traveling to Ellsworth Industrial and English Street for a total of 0.7 miles. Construction started in May of 2024 and is now complete, with a ribbon cutting held on October 30, 2025. Punch list work is mostly complete, aside from handrail corrections.

Beltline Connector Trails + Access Points

  • Oakland City MARTA Station + Murphy Connector Trail: This connector trail is expected to be 1.31 miles in length in total, beginning at the existing Southside Trail access point at Allene Avenue SW and splitting into two segments. The 30% design milestone was reached in December. Coordination is ongoing with the Atlanta Department of Transportation on the Allene Intersection, which is a Moving ATL Forward project.

Parks

  • Enota Park: Enota Park is an eight-acre park that is under construction on the west side of Atlanta. The park has been broken into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. In the upper parcel, the boardwalk is nearly complete, streambank restoration is finished, kudzu removal is underway, and the creek overlook is complete, other than handrails. In the middle parcel, stormwater and grading work are ongoing, starting in the new year. In the lower parcel, stormwater piping has been installed, grading is underway, and retaining walls are being poured and clad with stone. The team is working with Trees Atlanta on the planting schedule for the middle and lower parcels and aims to complete the park by the summer of 2026.

  • Shirley C. Franklin Park (formerly Westside Park) – Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track: This Shirley C. Franklin Park project consists of a 2.25-mile mountain bike trail for various skill levels as well as a pump track facility for teaching the sport of mountain biking. The first phase of work on the park has been released to start construction, and permitting is complete. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for January 22nd. Fundraising will continue to fund the entire project and all desired elements and phases of work.

The skills course presents a series of technical challenges, including narrow bridges, rock gardens, and tight switchbacks.

Streetscapes

Ponce de Leon Ave: This project involves 0.68 miles of streetscape work along Ponce de Leon, as well as a new ramp providing access to the Eastside Trail from Ponce de Leon. The ramp is open for public use, and the repair work on the Eastside Trail has been completed. Punch list work continues, which may require short closures of the ramp.

Trail Lighting and Camera Projects

  • Wylie Street Permanent Cameras: Starting January 5th, the Beltline is adding cameras to the Southeast Trail at Wylie Street. Because this is a narrow section of the trail, there are possible interim detours to the sidewalk across the street. Work is expected to be complete by March 2026.

  • Northeast Trail "Gravel Rail Trail" Permanent Lighting and Cameras: In January, we will also trim landscaping, add new gravel, and put up permanent lights and cameras along this popular trail. The trail will be fenced off during construction, with the mainline trail used as the 'detour.' Work is expected to be complete by April 2026.

  • Westside Trail - Camera Replacement: The cameras on the original Westside Trail will be replaced beginning January 5th. There will be minimal impact on trail users, with appropriate safety barriers in place. Work is expected to be complete by March 2026.
