These projects play a pivotal role in furthering the Atlanta Beltline vision to be the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive, and sustainable city life.
Note that some projects have been removed to focus on monthly progress, and project expectations are subject to change due to unforeseen conditions. For the latest updates, visit their project pages.
Reminder: Active construction sites are dangerous, and entering the trail could result in injury. We understand that the community is excited about new trail sections—so are we! Thank you for your patience while we work toward their official openings.
Current Projects
1. Northeast Trail - Segment 3 and Connector Trails
Northeast Trail Segment 3 and Connector Trails:This federally funded portion of trail includes the mainline trail of the Atlanta Beltline 22-mile loop, called Northeast Trail – Segment 3, as well as connector trails to MARTA Lindbergh Center station, PATH 400, and to the Armour-Ottley district. The $25M RAISE Grant agreement was executed in January and GDOT issued a notice to proceed to ABI. The team issued an invitation to bid for construction procurement in early April. This is a long and complex project, one of the Beltline’s largest, and the expected construction duration will be 42 months.

Southside Trail Segments 2+3:This 1.9-mile section runs from west of I-75/85 to Boulevard and was released for construction in May of 2024. While some unexpected environmental cleanup work has delayed the schedule, the trail will be open and accessible during the FIFA World Cup 26™. Final wall construction is in progress at Hill Street / Skylark Apartments at Boulevard. Segment 2 has been poured to McDonough Tunnel, with the stretch to Milton expected to be completed by early April. Landscaping is in progress from Pittsburgh Yards to Pryor Road bridge and Milton Avenue to Hill Street. Barring any unforeseen conditions, the team is forecast to have most construction activities completed by the first week of May, with punch list and other landscaping work to continue through early June 2026. Landscaping will continue in the Fall and wrap up in the Spring of 2027. We will continue to keep the community informed on progress.

Southside Trail – Segments 4+5:This trail segment runs from Boulevard to Glenwood and is 1.2 miles long. The United Avenue ramp has been poured, and the last of the walls to tie into the United Avenue sidewalk have been constructed. Railing installation on the United Ramp is not expected to be complete until mid to late April. The stairs at the Ormewood access point are complete, and the ramp was poured mid-March with railing installation to be completed by early April. Lighting and camera installation are complete. Once the security cameras are tied into the communications network, the trail will be accessible to the public. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for April 16.
4. Westside Trail
Westside Trail – Segment 6:This trail connects the Westside Trail at Lawton Street SW to the Westside Trail at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard/White St. This 0.6-mile section of trail is open, but is a sidewalk connection, diverted off the rail corridor with ramp connections to an adjacent sidewalk. This project will construct a trail connection on the rail corridor. The 60% design milestone has been reached, with 90% expected at the end of March. In January, we began trimming landscaping, adding new gravel, and putting up temporary poles in this corridor for lighting and cameras on the interim trail until the permanent trail construction work is mobilized. Construction of a new trail at this location will not start until after FIFA events scheduled for June 2026 and is tentatively scheduled to be completed by late 2027 or early 2028. Landscaping work will extend into 2028.
5. Northwest Trail - Segment 1

Northwest Trail – Segment 1:This 0.8-mile section runs from the west side of Peachtree Parks Apartments south along Peachtree Creek. The apartment side of the trail will be available to Peachtree Park residents for use in April. Due to bridge engineering issues, construction of the bridge at Peachtree Creek and the completion of the northern elevated trail connecting to Kinsey Court will push into 2027 or early 2028. Much of the concrete structure for the elevated trail is complete, but will be put on hold to allow crane access to the bridge. Elevated trail concrete pours are complete for the footings and piers.
6. Northwest Trail - Segment 2
Northwest Trail – Segment 2:This 0.7-mile segment starts at the southeast corner of Bobby Jones Golf Course and runs east along Colonial Hills Circle. Design plans are complete, and real estate acquisition and easement work is ongoing. The Beltline has signed an agreement with GDOT for the construction of a new tunnel under Peachtree Street for the trail. GDOT should begin work on the right-of-way acquisition by April 2026. Portions of this segment will be shovel-ready by March, with all real estate work complete, and will likely go out to bid for construction later this year.
7. Northwest Trail - Segment 3

Northwest Trail – Segment 3:This segment runs 1.2-miles from Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing’s parking lot to Tanyard Creek, crossing under I-75. The first portion, between Trabert and Northside (Section 3A), is complete and open. Design and permits for the remaining portion (Section 3B) are complete, and real estate work will be finalized in March. Because this complex project has a longer schedule, the project team is working to start construction as soon as possible. The construction solicitation was posted for bid in early February, with bids received in March and currently under evaluation.

Northwest Trail – Segment 4:This 0.9-mile segment links English and Culpepper to the Monday Night Brewery parking lot at Trabert. We have split Segment 4 into Section A and Section B to provide opportunities for a smaller construction firm to bid on Section B. Construction on Section 4A is underway, with a completion date expected in August of 2027. The construction team is working on grading, demolition work, and other site development work. All remaining property purchases are expected to close by March 2026 for Section 4B.
9. Beltline Connector Trails + Access Points
Oakland City MARTA Station + Murphy Connector Trail:This connector trail is expected to stretch 1.31 miles in total, beginning at the existing Southside Trail access point at Allene Ave SW and splitting into two sections. The 30% design milestone was reached in December. Coordination is ongoing with the Atlanta Department of Transportation on the Allene Intersection, which is a Moving ATL Forward project. Design is expected to run through mid-2026 and construction to be completed in mid-2028. Landscaping work will extend into the winter months of 2028.
10. Streetscapes
0102
02
Ponce de Leon Ave:This project involves 0.68 miles of streetscape work along Ponce de Leon, as well as a new ramp providing access to the Eastside Trail from Ponce de Leon. The ramp was shut down in mid-January to address issues with the grating and the mesh on the stainless-steel railing, and the contractor is working as quickly as possible to get the ramp back open to the public. Modifications include the replacement of all ramp grating and the addition of welded tabs to further secure the grating, as directed by the engineer of record. The contractor needed to order more materials, and we are expecting the ramp grating re-installation to be completed and ready for inspection by the engineering team this month.
11. Enota Park

Enota Park:An eight-acre park under construction on the west side of Atlanta, Enota Park has been broken into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. In the upper parcel, the boardwalk and streambank restoration are complete, kudzu removal is ongoing, and the creek overlook is complete but waiting on handrail detail approval. In the middle parcel, stormwater and grading work have started and will wrap up in early April for tree placements. In the lower parcel, stormwater piping has been installed, retaining walls are nearly complete, and the exterior shell of the maintenance building is almost finished, with the roof going up this month. The team is working with Trees Atlanta on the planting schedule for the middle and lower parcels and aims to complete the park by the summer of 2026.
