Atlanta’s largest greenspace is a former quarry that has been transformed into a vibrant park featuring a 35-acre reservoir, trails, meadows, sculptures, pavilions, playgrounds and some of the most spectacular skyline views anywhere in Atlanta.
There Are Trails on Top of Trails
Multiple paved pathways of various lengths can be found throughout the park, and most are ADA accessible. Detailed maps are posted throughout the park. The Red Trail leads to the southern end of the park at Proctor Creek.

A dynamic playground, exercise equipment, two large reservable pavilions, vast meadows, and the breathtaking skyline view overlook of the reservoir are some of the many amenities within the park.
More Amenities to Come
The park is set to be home to a one-of-a-kind biking facility, featuring mountain bike trails, a pump track, a bicycle playground, jump lines, a skills course, and hiking trails.
An Enduring Legacy
Formerly known as Westside Park, Shirley Clarke Franklin Park honors Atlanta's 58th mayor, whose visionary leadership reshaped the city's infrastructure and public spaces. During her tenure (2002-2010), she helped establish the Atlanta Beltline and secured this parkland, transforming a former quarry into both a critical reservoir and one of the city's most treasured green spaces.
