Atlanta Beltline, Inc. is soliciting bids from qualified construction firms to build the remaining section of the Northwest Trail – Segment 3. An Invitation to Bid is now open for Segment 3B, a one-mile section extending from Northside Drive to Tanyard Creek Park. This segment will connect to the completed 2.9-mile Northside Trail, running through Tanyard Creek Park.

When complete, Segment 3B will create a safe crossing over Northside Drive via a new pedestrian bridge, with the trail continuing through the Atlanta Technology Center property. The segment connects to Segment 3A, which opened in July 2025 adjacent to Monday Night Brewing - The Grove, and will improve connectivity for the Underwood Hills, Collier Hills, Channing Valley, and Ardmore neighborhoods adjacent to the Beltline.

Construction is expected to begin in mid-2026, following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ matches in Atlanta, and will take approximately 28 months (about 2 and a half years) to complete.

The project includes construction of a 14-foot-wide multi-use trail, an elevated trail structure, pedestrian bridge, storm drainage and stormwater management with an emphasis on green infrastructure, brownfield remediation, lighting, security cameras, fiber duct bank installation, stainless-steel handrails and guardrails, site demolition, and landscape installation in coordination with Trees Atlanta.

To date, the Beltline has delivered 13.6 miles of the 22-mile Beltline mainline trail, along with 10.3 miles of connector trails. Design for the entire Northwest Trail is complete.

Funding for Beltline trails is provided through a combination of public and philanthropic sources. Public funding is supported by the Atlanta Beltline Tax Allocation District, supported by Atlanta Public Schools, Fulton County, and the City of Atlanta, as well as the Beltline Special Service District. Lead philanthropic support is provided by the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, Inc. and the James M. Cox Foundation.

Interested parties can register through Atlanta Beltline’s procurement management website to access the invitation. Bids are due Thursday, March 19th. Media assets are available for download here
