Atlanta Beltline, Inc. (ABI) has hired Cincar Consulting Group, LLC (C2G) to facilitate and deliver an updated Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP). The SIP is a comprehensive strategic work plan providing an overarching execution strategy for the balance of the infrastructure and complimentary priorities in the Atlanta Beltline program, including trails, transit preparedness, parks, affordable housing, economic development, public art, historic preservation, and more.
In the next two years, more than 80 percent of the 22-mile Atlanta Beltline multi-use trail loop will be completed or under construction, with the remainder in design. The SIP will chart a course to completion by the sunset of the Tax Allocation District (TAD) – one of ABI’s significant funding sources – by the end of 2030.
“Over the last few years, we have accelerated our work across every facet of the project, including funding to advance design and construction, affordable housing, and economic development,” said Clyde Higgs, President and CEO of Atlanta Beltline, Inc. “We are excited to bring on C2G as a partner to provide consultation on the remainder of the Atlanta Beltline projects and programs as the team delivers this legacy mobility project for the City of Atlanta.”
Using a multidisciplinary approach, C2G will collaborate with neighborhoods surrounding the Atlanta Beltline alongside ABI staff to refine remaining projects, their timing, sequencing, and economic scenarios, with consistent consideration to equity and community benefits.
C2G, a locally based strategic consulting firm, brings to ABI a deep understanding of the Atlanta metro area coupled with a rich history of delivering complex infrastructure programs and studies from across the country. The SIP project team assembled by C2G aligns with ABI’s goals of inclusive stakeholder engagement and commitment to equitable economic and community development.
First developed and published in 2013, the Strategic Implementation Plan is a constructive document that suggested project prioritization is based on project readiness, equity in development, and development impact, consistency with City goals, and available financial options. These prioritization criteria were vetted with the community through an extensive community engagement process. With the prioritization criteria, projected funding that would be available through the TAD (scheduled to close at the end of 2030), and the team’s knowledge and understanding of other potential funding sources, the SIP outlines how the infrastructure could be constructed over three time periods.
“We are thrilled and honored to have been selected by ABI to lead this important project,” said Dr. Adiele Nwankwo, Managing Partner of C2G. “We look forward to our participation in advancing one of the largest urban redevelopment projects of its kind in the nation.”
