OCTOBER 23, 2025

Atlanta Beltline Art is celebrating the city’s vibrant graffiti and stylewriting culture and legacy with the return of ATL StyleWriters Jam, a weekend-long convening of more than 30 artists who will transform four sites along the Beltline into live canvases.

This year’s expanded program adds two major new components: the StyleWriters Jam Walking History Tour, a guided walk with graffiti historian and artist Antar Fierce that traces Atlanta’s railroad roots, Atlanta Beltline history with a focus on the Westside Trail, and the rise of the city’s style-writing scene, including an interactive then-and-now photo experience.

The second component is a special screening of “City of Kings,” an award-winning documentary chronicling Atlanta’s pioneering style writers. “City of Kings” features four generations of artists: Hense, SparkyZ, Save and VAYNE. Together, these events honor the city’s influence on global street culture while spotlighting the artists who have shaped its visual identity.

WHAT: ATL StyleWriters Jam

Atlanta Beltline Art, as part of the final homestretch of its 2025 exhibition year, brings back its ATL StyleWriters Jam. The three-day event will bring more than 30 of the city’s most influential style writers together to celebrate the legacy and influence of style writing in Atlanta. The entire weekend is free and open to the public.

  • Live Installations: The event showcases the evolution of Atlanta’s style writing culture as artists create new installations, from sketch to final paint in real time, along the Beltline trail. The live sessions will feature some of the founders of Atlanta’s style writing scene, dating back to the early 1980s when the hip-hop movement came to Atlanta. The installations will also become a special exhibition of the Atlanta Beltline Art collection.

  • Walking History Tour: Graffiti historian and artist Antar Fierce will lead a walking history tour to accompany the ATL StyleWriters Jam weekend. The tour will cover Atlanta's past as a railroad hub, Atlanta Beltline history, and the story behind Atlanta's thriving style writing scene. It will also focus on the intersection between graffiti history and that of the Beltline, especially as it relates to the Westside Trail. Tour guests will also have the chance to participate in an interactive photo experience, where they can see what spots along the trail looked like long before the corridor was built.

  • Documentary Screening of “City of Kings:” A public art origin story. Historian, archivist and educator Antar Fierce explores the origins of Atlanta’s graffiti culture and its influence on the city’s current street art movement. Featuring interviews with Atlanta artists SPARKY Z, SAVE, HENSE and VAYNE.
