LAND ACQUISITION & DEVELOPMENT
Bennett Street
Building an Affordable Community
The 3.2 acre assemblage at Bennett Street is in the Buckhead neighborhood and owned by the Beltline. Creating affordable housing and commercial space directly on the future Northwest Trail, the site is near the intersection of Peachtree Road NW and Bennett Street NW.
Connecting the Peachtree Corridor to the Beltline
Located near Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and the Shepherd Center, this marks the first Beltline acquisition along Peachtree Road. To the east of the property lies Segment 1 of the Northwest Trail, and to the west lies Segment 2. The property is key to completing the Northwest Trail, filling a critical gap where no rail corridor exists. The project's vision is to create affordable housing and affordable commercial opportunities in one of Atlanta’s most in-demand areas.

Project Status
In November 2024, Atlanta Beltline, Inc. collaborated with the Dickens Administration to purchase nearly one acre of land at 2110 Peachtree Road , which included three parcels needed to complete Segment 2 of the Northwest Trail. Another milestone was reached in August of 2025 after the Beltline purchased an additional six parcels near the intersection of Peachtree Road NW and Bennett Street NW.
The acquisition leaves the Beltline with a total of 3.2 acre assemblage that will not only accommodate the future Northwest Trail but also will allow the Beltline to advance its goal of creating affordable housing and commercial space directly on the Beltline in one of the most sought after areas of the city.
Currently, the buildings are vacant and will be prepared for demolition while future site planning efforts are underway. The Beltline will undertake an intensive planning and community engagement process for the site - consistent with its approach to all projects.
