About the Avon Property

The Avon site features a warehouse that was constructed for Chrysler Motor Parts Company, which reportedly occupied the site until the early 1980s.

The original 100,000-square-foot warehouse fronting Murphy Avenue was constructed between 1938 and 1949.

The upper level of the main warehouse, lower-level basement, and office section were added between 1949 and 1950.

The Georgia Building Authority took ownership of the space in 1985 and used the warehouse as a storage facility until Invest Atlanta purchased it in 2020.

The Georgia Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped/Accessible Services also occupied the office section of the building, but the timeline for when is unclear.
