General Information

Is Your Business Ready for the Global Spotlight?

FIFA World Cup™ is the biggest spectator event on the planet—bigger than football’s “Big Game” and the Olympics. The 2026 tournament will be the largest in history. For the first time ever, it's being hosted across multiple countries, and the format has expanded from 32 teams to 48. This means FIFA World Cup 26™ will bring millions of fans together across Canada, Mexico, and the United States for an unforgettable celebration of soccer.

Atlanta will host eight matches—including a semifinal—plus a FIFA Fan Festival™. That means sustained foot traffic downtown and across nearby districts. Download the Business Toolkit to make sure your business is ready for all of the opportunities you’ll find hosting fans from across the globe.

The FIFA Clean Zone

What Atlanta’s World Cup “Clean Zone” Means for Your Activation

“Clean Zones” are areas FIFA designates around official venues to prevent unauthorized advertising or vending—essentially a no-soliciting zone for brands on event days. In Atlanta, the Mayor has issued an Executive Order establishing a World Cup Activation Zone across parts of Downtown, Castleberry Hill, and Vine City, which places a temporary moratorium on certain permits during the tournament. That means some activities—such as large events, vending, and certain street closures—won’t be approved in that area. Your best bet is to plan activations outside the zone or explore official programs that allow participation within it.

Permitting Information

Stay on Side with Your Permits

All outdoor events in the City of Atlanta—whether you’re hosting a festival, pop-up, Public Viewing event, or neighborhood gathering—need approval from the Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOSE). Before you dive into planning, make sure you’ve got the right permits lined up. This Business Toolkit will walk you through who to contact, when to apply, and what approvals you'll need so you can operate smoothly and confidently during FIFA World Cup 26™. And keep in mind: City permits don’t automatically guarantee a FIFA Public Viewing license, so be sure to check those requirements separately.

Viewing Party License Information

All viewing events should apply through FIFA's public viewing platform to determine if you need a license. Click the link below for more information.

FIFA Intellectual Property

Know the Rules Before You Play With FIFA’s IP

FIFA’s Intellectual Property (IP) includes things like its logos, trademarks, wordmarks, mascots, emblems, posters, official slogans, and more. Only official FIFA Rights Holders are allowed to use these elements for commercial purposes. That said, the Atlanta World Cup Host Committee and Host City Supporters can use certain approved FIFA assets for specific promotional efforts and licensed products—just as long as they get the green light from FIFA first.
