Regular physical activity is one of the best ways to strengthen your heart and reduce stress. The Beltline makes it easier to move more by connecting neighborhoods with nearly 13 miles of safe, inviting mainline trails and over 10 miles of connector trails that provide access to the loop — allowing Atlantans to walk, get active, and prioritize their health close to home.
Whether you choose to embark on a group or solo stroll, there’s plenty of ways to get your steps in along the open segments of the Atlanta Beltline (outside of the bustling Eastside Trail).
Ardmore Park to Bobby Jones Golf Course: 2,250 steps
This section of the Northside Trail winds over bridges through Tanyard Creek Park, this trail treats visitors to one of the most secluded and shady stretches of the Beltline—perfect for warm weather. Benches along the route make it easy to pause and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Glenwood Avenue to Boulevard: 2,700 steps
The newly paved segments add over a mile to your Southeast Trail stroll while connecting you to vibrant neighborhoods and their favorite local hangouts. You’re bound to see residents catching up with their neighbors on impromptu run-ins... Without blocking the trail, of course.
Pittsburgh Yards to Lee + White: 3,600 steps
Filled with art and creative installations, this walk on the Southwest Trail is ideal for those who love to combine movement with culture. No matter where you begin, there are plenty of places to refresh and refuel.

Washington Park to the Westview Commercial District: 3,825 steps
The Westside Trail stretches through some of Atlanta’s most historic neighborhoods. At Ralph David Abernathy Plaza, the Beltline meets the Westview Business District, where you can shop or grab a bite to eat before you head back.
West Marietta Street NW to Downtown: 4,275 steps
Take the .73-mile Spur Trail to explore the city’s west side commercial districts without your car, then follow the Westside Connector Trail to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the rest of downtown Atlanta!

Start at 10th and Monroe and follow the Northeast Trail through the wooded areas of Piedmont Park up to the current terminus at Mayson Drive. Make a pitstop at the Ansley Mall shopping center, check out bridges adorned by murals and graffiti, or take a detour into the park for a coffee, snack, or some dog playtime.
