How to Spend 48 Hours on the Beltline
With activities and destinations for every interest, the Beltline trail helps visitors customize their Atlanta experience.
- Parks & Trails

Visiting Atlanta for the weekend or planning a staycation? The Beltline is one of the best ways to explore the city— connecting parks, neighborhoods, restaurants, bars, and cultural hotspots.
Whether you stay in one area, cruise the trail for miles, or take a quick drive to another section, here's how to spend an unforgettable 48 hours around the corridor!
Friday Evening
Drop off your bags and stretch your legs. For Beltline access right out your door, stay at The Forth Hotel or the iconic Hotel Clermont. Take an evening stroll and get a feel for the action.
Head to Ponce City Market, the Krog District or Lee + White for food stalls and sit-down staples. Or venture just off the trail into nearby neighborhoods packed with hidden gems like Inman Park, Virginia Highland, or West Midtown.
After dinner, enjoy a sweet treat (some of our favorites are Big Softie on the Eastside Trail and Glaciers Italian Ice at the Atlanta Beltline Marketplace at Allene).
Then, soak in the sunset at Gordon White Park (Southwest Trail), Piedmont Park (Northeast), or Thomas Taylor Memorial Skatepark (Eastside).
Saturday Morning
Route to the nearest coffee shop (such as The Daily on the Northwest Trail, Drip on the Southeast Trail, or Black Coffee ATL on the Southwest Trail) and get your day started. Go for a walk, join a free fitness class or rent a bike for a guided or solo tour.
Saturday Afternoon
Visit key attractions near the trail:
Zoo Atlanta – via the Southeast Trail
Atlanta Botanical Garden – via the Northeast Trail
Georgia Aquarium & World of Coca-Cola – via the Westside Beltline Connector
Feeling sporty?
Attend a game or match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium or swing by the Georgia World Congress Center for related fan events.
Several college teams have dedicated game-day spots close by the Beltline, including Smith’s Olde Bar (Alabama fans) and Monday Night Brewing (Georgia fans). Or head to Park Tavern or Painted Park for more neutral, lively viewing parties.
Prefer arts, culture, and history?
Explore the artwork on the trail, with murals and installations on every stretch. Make your way to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park & Preservation District or the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta.
Saturday Night
Catch a live show or event at the Eastern, City Winery, Boggs Social and Supply or Westside Motor Lounge.
If a cocktail bar calls your name, Drawbar on the Northwest Trail or Moonlight and Nine Mile Station on the Eastside Trail pair great drinks with breathtaking rooftop views.
Want a more casual night out? Brewery-hop your way along the Beltline.
Sunday Morning
Time to shop! Check out a neighborhood farmer’s market in Grant Park or Reynoldstown for a taste of local flavor and community charm. Elsewhere, the trail is always full of options ranging from small business pop-ups to national brands.
Then, sit down for brunch at a classic like Thumbs Up Diner (Eastside), Bomb Biscuit Co. (Southeast), and many more. For a quicker bite, grab something from Emerald City Bagels (Eastside) or Henri’s (Northeast).
Sunday Afternoon
Still have time to kill before your flight? Drop by other well-loved hangout spots on the trail. Or simply take a final walk and let the Beltline surprise you—there’s always more to discover.
