Atlanta Beltline to Host Information Sessions Seeking Partners in Constructing the Northwest Trail

Atlanta Beltline is seeking construction partners to help them continue constructions on three major parts of the Northwest Trail

    JULY 15, 2025

The Atlanta Beltline is hosting a two-part information session all about how to bid on the upcoming work of the Northwest Trail including a unique guided site walk of the trail. The Beltline is looking for small to medium sized, local construction firms to construct additional segments of the Northwest Trail that have been broken down into smaller sections.  This work will be available for bidding in the coming months: Segments 2A, 2C and 4B.

The Northwest Trail in its entirety will run 4.3 miles from the northern terminus of the Westside Trail (around West Marietta and Huff Road) over to the Northeast Trail (around the Armour-Ottley commercial district and the Lindbergh MARTA station). This specific trail is especially unique in that it will be built outside of an existing railroad corridor.

Northwest Segment 2 (NWT 2) begins at the southwest corner of Bobby Jones Golf Course and travels 0.7 miles east along Colonial Hills Circle. Segment 2A   is 0.3 miles long and Segment 2C is 0.1 miles long.

Northwest Trail Segment 4 (NWT 4) is 0.9 miles and begins at English and Culpepper, generally going east until crossing Howell Mill Road and ending at the Monday Night Brewery parking lot at Trabert Ave. Segment 4B is 0.4 miles long.

To foster greater accessibility and expand participation among a wide range of businesses, trail segments were intentionally divided into smaller portions. This approach creates more entry points for firms of varying sizes and capabilities to take part in building the 22-mile Beltline loop—one of the largest redevelopment efforts in Atlanta’s history. By creating space for certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), the Beltline is committed to ensuring that opportunity is shared and that the project reflects the diversity and talent of the communities it connects. This work is part of our broader mission to support inclusive growth and shape a future where all Atlantans can live, work, and thrive.

We are seeking partners to work together as we reach our goal of connecting the 22-mile loop. To date, 12.6 miles of the total mainline loop have been completed including the 10.3 miles of connector trails.
