Single Lane Closures to Take Place on Buford Spring Connector Between November 13-16

Nighttime lane closures will be in effect while Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. performs bridge inspection.

WHAT: Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. contractors will close single lanes on the Buford Spring Connector where it crosses under the future Atlanta BeltLine corridor.

WHEN:  Single lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the nights of November 13, 14, 15, and 16. All lanes will reopen after 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 16.

WHERE: The Buford Spring Connector where it passes under the future Atlanta BeltLine trail and transit.

ADVISORY: During the closure period, a single northbound lane will be closed for November 13 and 14 and a single southbound lane will be closed on November 15 and 16. This may affect traffic entering the on-ramp to I-85 South and the Buford Spring Connector on the 15th and 16th. Proper signage will be posted to ensure driver safety. See below map.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:  Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) recently purchased 13 acres of land, including the “wye,” from Norfolk Southern. The wye is made up of two inactive railroad bridges shaped like a Y that will eventually connect the northeast corridor of the Atlanta BeltLine between Rock Springs Road, NE, and Mayson Street, NE. ABI’s contractors will be performing a structural inspection to identify if any repairs are needed.

COMMUNITY CONTACT: Individuals with questions related to this project, please call 404-477-3552.
