Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Hosts Seventh Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines invite participants of all fitness levels to run, walk or stroll in the seventh annual Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K on Saturday, December 2, 2017. The race starts at 9:30 a.m. on Krog Street in front of Stoveworks and showcases the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, with participants passing through the historic neighborhoods of Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Virginia-Highland and Midtown. The finish line for this year’s race will be on the newly opened Eastside Trail extension behind Stoveworks.

Runners leave the start line and head down Krog Street in the 2016 Eastside 10K.

Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. The top three overall male and female Masters finishers (40+), Grand Masters finishers (50+), Senior Masters (60+) finishers and top three finishers in each age category will also receive medals. Participants are encouraged to create or join a team, as awards will be presented to the largest, fastest, and top fundraising teams and to the top individual fundraiser. The Eastside 10K is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

Additional race day activities include a Tailgate Challenge in which local college alumni clubs compete for prizes for the most spirited groups. If your alumni club would like to participate, contact John Becker at john@atlblp.org.

Middle Georgia College took home first prize in last year’s Tailgate Challenge.

The Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K is part of the 2017 Run.Walk.Go! Race Series, which provides opportunities for people of all fitness levels to explore different Atlanta BeltLine trail segments while staying active. Race proceeds benefit the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the nonprofit that raises funds and builds broad-based support for the Atlanta BeltLine project.
