Westside Trail Developments

We are nearly a year and a half into the construction of the Westside Trail, and with completion on schedule for 2017, there is plenty of activity to keep track of with our next major trail to be built in the Atlanta BeltLine corridor.

Show, Don’t Tell!

The best way to illustrate construction highlights on the Westside Trail is to show progress photos:

Retaining wall just south of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
Duct-bank just south of Stafford Street.

With underground infrastructure in place and retaining walls being poured, the trail’s form is beginning to take shape.

Building Bridges

The Atlanta BeltLine is all about connectivity, and bridges are a physical reminder of how the corridor’s loop can forge safe access and connections to improve mobility. In March 2015, the old bridge over Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive was removed. As part of trail construction, the bridge will be rebuilt at a greater height and with sidewalks for pedestrians along the road. The beams for this bridge will be set on June 11, 2016. See our media alert for road closure information.
