TRAVEL ADVISORY: Closure of MLK Jr. Dr. at Westside Trail March 7 & 8

WHO:  Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.

WHAT: Travel Advisory for Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. SW Closure

WHERE: Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. SW between Stafford Street SW and Morris Brown Dr. SW

WHEN: Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. through Sunday, March 8 at 9:00 p.m.

WHY:  Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is constructing a 3-mile multi-use corridor along the Westside Trail, spanning from University Avenue at Adair Park to Lena Street at Washington Park. As part of this construction, the bridge over Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. will be removed and replaced. Bridge removal will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 and continue until 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. If necessary, work will continue over the weekends of March 14-15 and 21-22. Please check back to beltline.org for the latest travel advisories and updates concerning the road closure.

During the closure of Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., certain detour routes will be established. Eastbound traffic will use Chicamauga Ave., Westview Dr., and Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. Westbound traffic will use Joseph E. Lowery Blvd., Joseph E. Boone Blvd., and West Lake Ave.
