The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is deeply saddened by the loss of Herman J. Russell. Herman was not only honorary co-chair of our capital campaign, but was a dear friend of the Atlanta BeltLine and Atlanta as a whole. A keen business leader and philanthropist, Herman leaves behind an indelible mark on the city through his contributions through the company he founded, the H. J. Russell Construction Company. Some of the company’s most well known projects include the Atlanta landmarks Hartsfield – Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Georgia Dome, Philips Arena, and Turner Field. We are so grateful for Herman’s committed volunteer leadership with all of the Partnership’s capital fundraising efforts. His friendship and leadership will be greatly missed.
