Return of the Southern Charm campaign

The Southern Charm etiquette campaign is back!

On November 15, we’re welcoming the arrival of cold weather with some warm Atlanta BeltLine hospitality. The Southern Charm campaign is a coordinated effort in which Atlanta BeltLine volunteers came together to remind everyone how to keep the Atlanta BeltLine fun and enjoyable for all users. The first round of Southern Charm occurred in spring of this year and was well-received by trail users and volunteers alike.

The campaign is a fun way to remind people of the etiquette rules for using the Atlanta BeltLine’s trails. By holding these simple, colorful signs and cheering on the trail users, the campaign gets the messages across with an air of playfulness and positivity.

Even Ryan Gravel, the original Atlanta BeltLine visionary, got in on the Charm.

Though the volunteers get together to push the Southern Charm message only occasionally, etiquette is a 24/7 essential to being a considerate Atlanta BeltLine user. You can find all the rules of etiquette on the Atlanta BeltLine here, and see the full collection of etiquette signs in the gallery.

The volunteers will be on the Eastside Trail near Ponce de Leon Avenue again from 12-4 on November 15. If you see them, say hi, and share your photos with the hashtag #beltlinecharm. Or better yet, sign up for a 2-hour shift at volunteer.beltline.org. See you out on the trails!
