Recap of the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10k Race

Thank you to everyone who participated in the third and final race in the 2012 Atlanta BeltLine Running Series® – presented by IDR! This was the largest race so far on the Atlanta BeltLine, with more than 1,500 runners! Some of the new elements introduced this year included the Neighborhood Challenge and the online “Atlanta BeltLine Running Series Community” that rewards participants’ accomplishments.  There are even more exciting plans for next year!

Congratulations to Old Fourth Ward for sweeping the Neighborhood Challenge as the largest team, the most spirited and the fastest team. Old Fourth Ward also finished the 2012 Atlanta BeltLine Running Series as the top team in points followed by Black Girls Run and the Atlanta BeltLine Run Club. Way to go!

Mark your calendar for the first race in 2013 – the Atlanta BeltLine Northside 5K is April 27th.  We will open up registration to all the Atlanta BeltLine runs shortly as we announce a fourth race and more runs for the kids!

Those who created profiles in the Atlanta BeltLine Running Series Community can review their results and see how many points they earned from completing the Eastside 10K. Everybody received 400 points just for participating! Be sure to log back in to your profile and select “points” to see how many additional points you may have earned from meeting a projected time or beating someone in a challenge. You can redeem your points for awesome awards from the Atlanta Ballet, Alliance Theatre, Whole Foods and more!

A special shout out to West Stride for sponsoring the shirts and the Beer Growler for post-race beer!

Congratulations from the Atlanta BeltLine Running Series Committee and IDR!
