Families gathered in Perkerson Park and children waited impatiently for fountains to start gushing during the splash pad grand opening event this past Saturday, May 19. What started as a vision of Councilmember Joyce Sheperd came into fruition thanks to a generous donation from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and construction planning and project oversight from the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.
