Media Advisory: Atlanta Beltline Pop-Up Preview New Trail Etiquette Signs & Safety Guidelines
The Beltline launches “Easy as ABC” trail etiquette campaign at two locations on Oct. 28
- Atlanta Beltline‚ Inc.
Atlanta Beltline, in partnership with the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Atlanta Police Department, and Atlanta Department of Transportation, will host pop-up events kickstarting its “Easy as ABC” (Atlanta Beltline Courtesy) campaign at two trail locations to educate trail users and promote good trail courtesy and etiquette on the trail. Attendees will preview new etiquette signage and review safety guidelines to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and courteous experience for all trail users.
The new trail etiquette signage will promote safe travel and proper passing, keeping to the right, preventing litter, leashing and cleaning up after pets, practicing basic courtesy and respect for all trail users, and more.
With construction on the 22-mile Atlanta Beltline trail advancing, more people than ever are enjoying the multi-use corridor. The trail welcomes more than 2 million visits annually, making it one of the most visited destinations in Atlanta. And with its popularity, comes the need to continue educating trail users on how to share the 14-foot-wide path.
Visitor numbers are expected to continue rising with 16 miles of continuous mainline trail set to be completed by next year and as the city prepares to welcome guests for FIFA World Cup 26™. To support this growth, the recently launched Beltline Ambassador Program engages directly with trail users and assists with reporting maintenance issues, helping ensure the trail remains safe, welcoming, and well-maintained as usage increases including during major events that could draw even more visitors.
Trail rules are set through the City of Atlanta Code of Ordinances. Guidance for trail and park usage are available atwww.beltline.org/etiquette. Maintenance issues on the trail can be reported to 311 and for emergencies call 911.
