“Meet and Greets” provide tips & mentorship for engaging with the Atlanta Beltline
Atlanta Beltline, Inc. (ABI) is hosting two upcoming events to encourage Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) to work on projects for the city’s largest urban redevelopment venture. The sessions will give tips, solicitation pointers, and insights on upcoming procurement opportunities. They will also provide opportunities to connect contractors who could partner together.
The Beltline is looking for a multitude of construction contractors and other businesses to build the trail and to tell the Beltline’s story. Representatives of DBEs will learn about how to do business with ABI from staff and general contractors with experience on Atlanta Beltline projects.
The outreach effort is part of the Atlanta Beltline’s mission to build a more equitable and inclusive future that reimagines how people work, live, play, and thrive in Atlanta. With $300 million in funding through a Special Service District and a RAISE grant, ABI is seeking diverse business partners as it ramps up major projects to complete the 22-mile, multi-use trail by 2030. The Beltline will continue to work toward completion of the trail with the support of its partners.
“With work underway along every part of the Atlanta Beltline, we would like a broad range of businesses to be a part of this transformational project,” said Clyde Higgs, Atlanta Beltline, Inc. President & CEO. “From qualified DBE construction contractors and sub-contractors to business services, we would like everyone to attend this event at no cost and leave with tips and tools for the opportunity to participate in Beltline projects.”
General Contractors with experience on Atlanta Beltline projects will be in attendance to answer questions in a small group discussion format. The list below includes, but is not exclusive of, the desired categories and types of contractors/vendors sought by ABI.
As one of the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs in the United States, the Atlanta Beltline is the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive, and sustainable city life. ABI has always solicited and encouraged participation by qualified DBE and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) contractors and is seeking additional MBE contractors to help us complete the remaining work by the end of 2030.
