Old Fourth Ward

Over 80% of Old Fourth Ward was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1917, and redevelopment was slow in the aftermath. However, since the construction of the Eastside Trail and Historic Fourth Ward Park, private development is booming and the area is undergoing a renaissance. Old Fourth Ward has plenty of history, including the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr.
