Senior SNAP
To simplify the application process for seniors facing barriers to participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly the Food Stamp Program, due to complexities of the application process and challenges associated with age such as transportation, mobility, and disability.

Intake Options:
-You don’t have to go to a DFCS office to apply.
-You can call (404) 370-6236 or email seniorsnap@dhr.state.ga.us and an application will be mailed to you.
-You don’t have to have a face-to-face interview.
-Once you are approved, your SNAP Benefits will go into a special account and you will be sent electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card to use -every month for buying groceries. Your EBT card works just like a bank debit card at the grocery store.

Eligibility:
-All members of your household are 60 years of age or older and purchase and prepare their food together.
-The members of your household are not working.
-Your household is under the income limits to be eligible for SNAP participation.
