Atlanta Gas Light provides financial assistance for seniors through its Senior Citizen Discount Program, which reduces monthly natural gas bills for eligible Georgia residents. This Georgia Public Service Commission-approved discount provides: -Up to $14.00 off your monthly Atlanta Gas Light base charge
-The discount applies specifically to the AGL portion of your bill
-For customers using Liberty Utilities, eligible seniors receive a waiver of the monthly customer charge
-True Natural Gas offers qualifying seniors a reduced monthly customer service charge of $3.45 (instead of $5.95), saving $2.50 monthly or $30 annually
Eligibility
Atlanta Gas Light’s senior discount program requires meeting all of these requirements:
Be -65 years of age or older
-Have natural gas service in your name
-Live at the address where the discount will be applied
-Have a total annual combined household income at or below 200% of the Federal --Poverty Guidelines ($30,120 as of 2024)
Intake Options
To apply for this discount:
-Complete the Senior Citizen Discount application form available in English or Spanish
-Attach required documentation:
-Proof of age (driver’s license, photo ID, or birth certificate)
-Income verification (W-2, recent tax return, or Social Security pay stub)
