Construction
Digital Access
As the Beltline enhances mobility through infrastructure, this Smart Corridor project includes installing 22 smart hubs of technology across the 18 miles of open Beltline trail. These sites will all include public Wi-Fi access zones and a digital wayfinding kiosk.
Near the Marketplace locations additional technologies will be piloted including smart trash cans, camera visualization AI technology, and EV Charging somewhat adjacent to the sites. The Pittsburgh Yards access point and Freedom Parkway Marketplace locations will include the Nourish+Bloom autonomous grocery container concept.

Project Status
Work is underway on multiple locations as our subcontractor eX2 and their subcontractors continue to advance site development work for our smart corridor project. Work will include:
Following 404 Day events, Freedom Parkway site work is back underway with concrete formwork being installed and pouring concrete footings following that.
The smart hub located adjacent to the Irwin Marketplace will kick-off construction the week of April 13th with fencing, staking, and formwork being installed. Concrete
pouring will follow that process.
The next location in the queue is at the Beltline access point behind Pittsburgh Yards, with work expected to get underway the week of April 20th.
Installation of 6' safety fence and silt fencing around the area.
No permanent blocking of pedestrians/trail will be done and any temporary moving of equipment through/in this area will utilize cones and a person for traffic control.
