Autonomous Transit - Beltline Pilot
This 12-month pilot project will use autonomous vehicles on approximately 2 miles of public right-of-way to provide enhanced transit connectivity between the Atlanta University Center, MARTA West End Station, and Atlanta Beltline Southwest Trail at Lee + White Entertainment District.

Greater Mobility for the City
The first-of-its-kind autonomous public shuttle service in the City of Atlanta, the program will provide first/last mile connectivity with under 15-minute headways on the selected route, drive economic impact to the area, engage the community through rider surveys, workforce development opportunities, and local STEM programs, and promote tourism.

Project Status & Timeline
On June 5, the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority awarded this pilot project $1.75M from the state Transit Trust Fund for a turnkey autonomous transit service. Atlanta Beltline, Inc. will contract with Beep, an autonomous mobility service provider, and expects to issue a notice to proceed this summer to allow for vehicle production, testing, and operational readiness.
