Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service at Washington Park

NOTE: This event was rescheduled from Monday, January 17, 2022 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).

Please join The Conservancy at Historic Washington Park, Park Pride, The Atlanta Preservation Center, and Atlanta BeltLine Partnership for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.! Projects for volunteers will include clearing invasive plants, cleaning up litter throughout the park, preparing beds for spring planting, and mulching trees.

  • When: Saturday, February 12, 2022, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: We’ll gather in front of the Washington Park Tennis Center,1125 Lena Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30314. Free parking is available in the natatorium lot, as well as along Michigan Ave., which runs through the park. Please consider carpooling, walking, biking, or taking MARTA (Ashby Transit Station is nearby). If driving a personal vehicle, please leave valuables at home or out of sight.
  • What to Wear: Comfortable, durable clothing that can get dirty (long sleeves and pants), sturdy, closed-toe shoes (like tennis shoes or hiking boots)
  • What to Bring: A refillable water bottle, snacks if desired
  • We Will Provide: Tools, work gloves, project guidance

Covid Guidelines
To make our event as safe as possible from a Covid perspective, we encourage all participants to be fully vaccinated and to wear masks, socially distance, and use hand sanitizer as much as possible during the event.
