Martin Luther King Day of Service

January 20, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Please join The Conservancy at Historic Washington Park, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, and Park Pride for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Day! Projects for volunteers will include clearing invasive plants, painting park tables and benches, improving flower beds, cleaning up litter throughout the park, and mulching trees. The park celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 so let’s show this grand old lady some love as she turns 101!

Where to Go: We will gather in front of the Washington Park Natatorium at 102 Ollie Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30314. Free parking is available in the natatorium lot, as well as along Michigan Ave., which runs through the park. Please consider carpooling, walking, biking, or taking MARTA (Ashby Transit Station is nearby). If driving a personal vehicle, please leave valuables at home or out of sight.

What to Wear: Comfortable, durable clothing that can get dirty (long sleeves and pants), sturdy, closed-toe shoes (like tennis shoes or hiking boots)

What to Bring: A refillable water bottle, snacks if desired

We Will Provide: Tools, work gloves, project guidance
