Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, in collaboration with disability arts ensemble Kinetic Light, invites community members to attend a special performance of Under Momentum. Two performances will take place on the Eastside Trail immediately across from Paris on Ponce and 3Heart Coffee, across the bridge from Ponce City Market.  Parking and elevator access to the BeltLine is available at Ponce City Market.

  • Friday, November 8th from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 9th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Kinetic Light will perform excerpts from Under Momentum, specifically customized for the BeltLine. Under Momentum is a dance work that celebrates the joys of being continuously in motion, the allure of speed, and the beautiful futility of resisting gravity. In advance of their November 23rd performance of DESCENT at Georgia Tech’s Ferst Center for Performing Arts, this Art on the Atlanta BeltLine performance is free and open to the public.

Under the direction and artistic leadership of Alice Sheppard, Kinetic Light is a project-based ensemble of disabled artists committed to intersectional disability aesthetics and culture and accessibility as central parts of the art and creative process. Working in the disciplines of art, technology, design, and dance, Kinetic Light creates, performs, and teaches at the nexus of access, disability, dance, and race.
