Home Buyer Empowerment Workshop

Free and open to all // Light lunch provided

WORKSHOP SOLD OUT!!
Shortly after posting this event we reached capacity at the church where the workshop will be held so we’ve had to discontinue ticket “sales” for this workshop. We are working to line up the date and location of the next workshop – most likely it will be in early to mid February – and will announce that information shortly on our Facebook page and here on BeltLine.org. Thanks for your interest in our home buyer education workshop.

With the recent opening of the Westside Trail and the Eastside Trail extension (Phase 1), people are more interested than ever in buying a home along the Atlanta BeltLine. For many – especially first-time home buyers – the process of finding and purchasing the right home can seem complex, even overwhelming. The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Home Place Consulting, and Citizens Trust Bank are partnering to offer a free, day-long workshop designed to make sure that low- and moderate-income individuals looking to purchase a home along the Atlanta BeltLine have access to the programs and services that can help ensure that the home they find is right for them.

This free HUD-approved home buyer education class will help you assess your homeownership readiness, determine how much home you can afford, expand your knowledge of money management and credit, and understand the roles of the loan officer, inspector, appraiser and other real estate professionals you will encounter during the buying process. You will leave with knowledge of metro Atlanta’s various down payment assistance programs. To ensure that you receive uniform and quality service, this class adheres to the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. This class meets the requirements of a variety of down payment assistance programs available in Atlanta.
