Registration is underway for the 2015 Earth Day on the Atlanta BeltLine on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Project 2 – Mulching on the Eastside Trail
Trees Atlanta continues the important job of restoring the natural beauty of the Atlanta BeltLine while focusing on creating horticultural collections. Volunteers will assist with mulching an area previously planted with trees, shrubs, and perennials in order to control and prevent weeds and help regulate soil moisture. The area is on a hillside, so volunteers should be capable of traversing sloping terrain. Volunteers will meet at the Fourth Ward Skatepark.
All volunteers should wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long sleeves and pants, work gloves (extra gloves will be available), and should bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. Be prepared for moderate to heavy work. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, April 18, 2015
All volunteers should arrive at the site by 8:30 a.m. to check in and should bring a signed waiver, which can be accessed from the registration website above. Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at noon.
