ABP Health Lecture Series: Your Brain on Exercise

March 9, 2021 @ 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm

Free

Make plans to join us on Tuesday, March 9 at 12:15 p.m. for the first 30-minute installment in our new Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Health Lecture Series. We’re putting this series of virtual lectures together with our health and fitness partners at Georgia State University (GSU). We look forward to covering a diverse range of health and fitness-related topics over the coming weeks.

First up: Your Brain on Exercise, a discussion of the impact of exercise on brain activity. Our guest lecturer will be Dr. Vonetta Dotson, Associate Professor of Psychology and Gerontology at GSU, and Senior Project Scientist at NASA. Dr. Dotson’s career has focused on teaching, providing clinical care, and conducting research related to brain health and aging. In both her personal and professional life, she is passionate about the power of exercise to protect brain health, boost mental skills, and treat mental illnesses such as depression. Dr. Dotson is the author of the upcoming book Maintain a Healthy Brain: A Science-based Approach to Strengthen and Protect Your Brain at Any Age.
