Make plans to join us on Thursday, April 22 at 12:15 p.m. for the fourth 30-minute installment of BeltLine HealthLine, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership‘s new health lecture series. We’re putting this series of free virtual lectures together with our health and fitness partners at Georgia State University (GSU). We look forward to covering a diverse range of health and fitness-related topics for you over the coming weeks.

Next up: The Importance of Nutrition. Learn nutrition strategies for physical activity and chronic disease prevention/management from our guest lecturer Dr. Rafaela G. Feresin, Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Director of the Ph.D. program in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences at Georgia State University. Dr. Feresin’s research program and expertise spans from molecular to human trials and aims to identify nutritional strategies to prevent and treat chronic diseases. She is also interested in nutritional strategies to enhance body composition and athletic performance. Dr. Feresin completed her undergraduate studies in Nutrition and her Dietetic Internship in Brazil, her home country. She worked as a Sports Dietitian Nutritionist prior to moving to the US to pursue her graduate studies. She earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Nutrition from Florida State University (FSU), where she also completed her postdoctoral training in Vascular Biology.
