JULY 23, 2025

In less than a year’s time, the Atlanta Beltline will welcome the rest of the world on the projected 18-mile trail in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Inviting international players and fans to celebrate the beautiful game is an exciting milestone to look forward to. But on the Beltline, you don’t have to wait until 2026 to make the most of summer.

Here are ten activities, from team sports to concerts, that you can indulge in all summer long!

1. Bike Tours

Whether you’re looking for a casual ride on a single speed beach cruiser or the dynamic thrill of e-bikes, Atlanta Bike Barn on the Eastside Trail has you covered. Just rent a two-wheeler and start exploring around town.

If you’re closer to the Southwest Trail and want a chance to visit some of the historical homes, look no further than the rentals at AC Clutch Bike Shop and Pedego Electric Bikes Atlanta.

For some more sightseeing, join a Beltline Bike tour and get a local view of the trail.

2. History Tours

Travel through time by visiting The Wren’s Nest. What used to be the residence of Joel Chandler Harris, author of the classic Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit tales, is now open to public tours.

Keep immersing yourself in Atlanta’s arts and culture scene by walking down the Southwest Trail and touring the Hammonds House Museum. The gallery curates over 450 pieces of art created by artists around the world.

3. Skate Groups

For a different set of wheels, look no further than the skate groups rolling along the corridor. Through its free fitness program, the Atlanta Beltline offers a variety of skating classes where you can burn calories and build confidence. Be sure to stay up to date with our events page so you can sign up for upcoming lessons!

4. Shopping and Eating

Exploring the loop can be exciting and energizing, but it’s important to make some stops along the way to rest, relax, and savor the various foods offered along the trail.

From Ponce City Market offering vibrant culinary and retail experiences, to the wide variety food hall at Krog Street Market, the Eastside Trail will have you covered whether you’re looking for lunch or some new home decorations.

Further down on the Southeast Trail, The Beacon has spots for shopping, working, and dining. If you’re on the Southwest Trail, drop in at Lee + White for breweries, eateries, and small shops.

Whether you’re looking for a way to support small businesses or just want some fresh produce in your summer meals, come check out the Grant Park Farmers Market, held near the soon-to-open Southeast Trail year-round on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. –1:00 p.m.

On Saturdays from March to October, make sure to catch the Pittsburgh Community Market on the Southside Trail between 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Towards the Northeast Trail, catch The Green Market at Piedmont Park, open from March to December from 9am to 1pm and held at the main entrance to the park at 1071 Piedmont Ave. and 12th Street.

6. Atlanta Track Club Series

Partnering with the Atlanta Track Club, the Beltline presents the Atlanta Beltline Race Series. During the year, Atlantans have three opportunities to race at their pace, whether walking, running, or strolling (four-legged friends included!).

Make sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming races in August and November of 2025. Looking ahead, you can also sign up in 2026 for our three races for a chance to win the “three-race finishers” medal for completing every leg of the Beltline race series.

7. Brewery Hopping

For a summertime bar crawl, gather some friends and explore the many breweries along the Beltline. Some promising options include the Eastside Trail’s New Realm Brewing Co. and BrewDog Atlanta; the Southwest Trail’s Monday Night Garage and Wild Heaven Beer; and the Southeast Trail’s Three Taverns Imaginarium.

While you’re taking the chance to discover new favorites, add some community staples to your list as well. Some options are Eats on the Eastside Trail, Soul Vegetarian on the Westside Trail, and Arden’s Garden on the Northwest Trail for some refreshing beverages to fight off the summer heat.

9. Pools

Dive into the summer at the many free pools along the Beltline and run by the City of Atlanta Parks Department. Check out Grant Park Pool, Washington Park Pool, and Piedmont Park Pool. Pools are open from 12:30-7:30 p.m. while splashpads are open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., usually from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

10. Live Music

If live music is your jam, The Eastern is a state-of-the-art venue in the Dairies complex in the Reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta. The calendar is always full of artists of various genres to purchase tickets and check out.
