Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of the Beltline’s mission and are used in everything we do, including our website and event registration.
Alongside the rollout of our new brand and website, we also recently introduced an online event registration system called SmartStudio. This unique system allows users to create an account and RSVP for several events across categories, merging the sign-up process (which was previously done across different sites) onto one, easy-to-access platform.
When you first register for a Beltline event, you’ll likely notice demographic questions. These are the same questions we used to ask each time you registered for a meeting; they were just typically completed on the Zoom platform and had to be done every time you attended a meeting. Now, you will only need to input your information the first time, and it will remain in the system for the future. However, you can update it at any time if your responses change.
Why Do We Ask for This Data?
Since its inception, the Atlanta Beltline has been committed to fostering a collaborative environment with the diverse communities surrounding the trail. Understanding the demographics of our meeting and event attendees is a key priority for us. By collecting and analyzing this data, we can assess whether our outreach efforts are effective, ensure that our events meet the needs of the community, and gather valuable input from those most impacted by the project. This approach not only enhances our initiatives but also strengthens our connection with the communities we serve.
The demographic and geographic information from our event attendees is strictly for internal reference and research purposes in order to meet our promise of a Beltline for all. Individual data is confidential and never shared with other organizations, and all analysis is based on aggregations to preserve that confidentiality, too.
SmartStudio provides an effective way to connect with and learn about our community, and we hope that you will attend one of our many exciting events soon! For more information on ABI’s commitment to equity and inclusion, visit beltline.org/about-us/dei/, and explore upcoming Beltline events here.
