Find a Cozy Spot and Watch the Rain 

Sometimes the best way to enjoy a rainy day is simply by slowing down. 

Take cover beneath the pavilion at Historic Fourth Ward area along the Eastside Trail. If you're nearby, browse the shops at the Marketplace at Freedom Parkway while you wait for the rain to pass. A little farther down the trail, the covered overhang outside Brash Coffee offers a peaceful spot to enjoy your drink while watching the rain roll through. If you’re looking to stay dry a little longer, step inside Illuminarium for an immersive, indoor experience, or continue past Irwin Street to explore the local businesses at Krog District while you wait for the skies to clear. 

Over on the Southwest Trail, the spacious front porch at Lee + White offers a comfortable place to relax with friends, sip a coffee, or simply listen to the rain. 

Or stop by the covered bridge at Tanyard Creek Park on the Northwest Trail for a quiet moment surrounded by nature. 

Warm Up with a Great Meal 

Rainy weather is the perfect excuse to settle in over a comforting meal. Grab Japanese comfort food at Hotto Hotto at The Beacon, share tapas from the covered patio at Barcelona Wine Bar, or head to Lee + White where Boxcar at Hop City West End serves hearty sandwiches, burgers, and local craft beer just steps from the Southwest Trail. If you're looking for something more casual, Wild Heaven Beer: West End Brewery & Gardens offers indoor seating alongside rotating food vendors, making it easy to spend an hour or two while the rain passes.

Try something new

Challenge your friends to a race at F1 Arcade near the Eastside Trail, where immersive racing simulators and food make it easy to spend an afternoon.
