Filmed Along the Beltline: Spots from Your Favorite Films & Shows

Head to the corridor and check out these Beltline locations that have had their moment on the big screen.

    JANUARY 02, 2026

It’s no secret that Atlanta has become a major hub for film production, even earning the nickname “the Hollywood of the South.” Several popular movies and television series have transformed spots around the city into Hawkins, Indiana, Mystic Falls, or President Snow’s mansion.

Want to see some of the spots from your favorite films and shows in real life? Head to these locations along the corridor and step into cinematic magic!

    Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is located in the heart of Atlanta, just off the Northeast Trail. On top of hosting popular music festivals, outdoor concerts, and celebrations, it has been seen in Marvel’s Spider Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Instant Family, What Men Want, The Intern, and What to Expect When You’re Expecting (among many others). Home to 200+ acres of public green space, Piedmont Park allows visitors to explore the location of these scenes freely and imagine themselves being saved by Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

    Eastside and Southeast Trails

Offering striking city views, this portion of the Beltline is ideal for walking or biking past familiar TV locations. Constantine and Scorn were both filmed on the Eastside Trail at Freedom Parkway, while scenes from Black Lightning took place on the Southeast Trail, using Atlanta’s blend of urban and natural environments to bring the fictional town of Freeland, Georgia, to life. 2012's Trouble with the Curve also filmed scenes at Home Grown.

    Glenwood Park

The Glenwood Park neighborhood on the Southeast Trail was used as a filming location for the Oscar-winning film The Blind Side, as well as the 2017 favorite Pitch Perfect 3. The Pitch Perfect production team recreated a European weekend market in Nice in a small square within the neighborhood, complete with tents, awnings, and 10,000 flowers to create the authentic look. Grant Park

Also found near the Southeast Trail, Grant Park is one of Atlanta’s most historic parks and neighborhoods, and a favorite for filmmakers. In The Walking Dead, several tense sequences—including the unforgettable moment when Rick encounters a zombie girl on a bicycle—were filmed here. The Blind Side also captured the area’s charm.

    Shirley Clarke Franklin Park

This location off the Westside Trail deserves its own acting credit! Shirley Clarke Franklin Park and the former Bellwood Quarry inside can be seen in Stranger Things, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, Game of Silence, and The Fundamentals of Caring. Fans of The Walking Dead will recognize it from multiple zombie encounters, and it appeared as “The World’s Deepest Pit” in The Fundamentals of Caring. An overlook offers visitors stunning views of the Quarry below.

    The Goat Farm

Featured in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and The Walking Dead,  The Goat Farm served as the hometown of Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games franchise and as a hideout in Season 1 and a camp in Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Who knew you could use the Beltline’s Northwest Trail to travel to District 12?
