Join us for an unforgettable journey on the Beltline with “The Beltline Chronicles: A Performance of the Poem” by acclaimed artist and scholar Robert Barsky. On April 28th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, immerse yourself in the living history of these spaces as Barsky recites excerpts of his poem, “The Beltline Chronicles”.
“The Beltline Chronicles” is a 68-page poem celebrating Atlanta’s history along its namesake trail. Inspired by literary classics like “Don Juan” and “Paradise,” it weaves tales of exploration and cultural richness. Complemented by original artworks, it’s not just a poem but a visual journey. Through performances and installations, it adds to the ongoing narrative of the Beltline’s evolution.
Experience the fusion of poetry, contemporary dance by Annosha Biggins and Kristy Delva, and theater performances by Ismail ibn Conner at three stops along the Eastside Trail. Starting behind Three Peaches Gelato and Coffee, the performance will weave through installations near Ponce City Market and the North Avenue bridge.
This free event invites all to embark on this artistic adventure, celebrating the visionaries, developers, and dreamers shaping Atlanta’s future. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this transformative experience and explore the Beltline’s rich tapestry of history and creativity.
Location: Eastside Trail at Monroe Drive & 10th Street, Atlanta, GA 30309
