The Atlanta BeltLine connects people to places and opportunities, helping them get where they want to go. This is as much physically as figuratively. With over 3,000 business licenses located within a half-mile walk of the trail corridor, the BeltLine hosts a wide array of employment opportunities across multiple sectors from construction to technology, healthcare, and hospitality. Connecting residents to jobs and creating workforce development opportunities are part of ongoing efforts to stabilize communities and ensure that all Atlanta can benefit and prosper from the economic growth and activities associated with the Atlanta BeltLine.
In 2020, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and Atlanta BeltLine Partnership forged a collaboration with the newly created STRIVE Atlanta. STRIVE’s proven five-pillar model (job readiness training, occupational skills training, career coaching/case management, job placement, and lifetime support) creates a clear pathway to long-term career success. Since then, the program has offered 6 cohorts and has graduated 55 participants, including 5 BeltLine residents.
Partnering with BeltLine businesses plays an important role, as well, in strengthening communities in which residents live, work, play, and thrive. In 2021, the BeltLine and STRIVE Atlanta, in partnership with Trees Atlanta, a BeltLine business, launched a Forestry Tech cohort, designed to provide trainees with the skills needed to enter the greenspace maintenance sector.
