The Atlanta Beltline is excited to announce the promotion of Kynthia Gaines to Vice President of Design & Construction. Gaines has been an integral part of the Atlanta Beltline team for more than four years as the Director of Construction, bringing more than 25 years of experience across the construction and real estate industries.

Throughout her time as the Beltline’s Director of Construction, she played an important role in advancing some of our most complex projects, combining deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of the Beltline, our partners, and the communities we serve.

In her new role, Gaines will lead the Design & Construction team as they continue the critical work of completing the Beltline trail, advancing infrastructure throughout the corridor, and delivering projects that connect communities across Atlanta. With the recent completion of the Southside Trail creating nearly 17 continuous miles, the team’s focus will now turn to advancing the Northern Corridor and expanding the Beltline’s network of connector trails.

“I’m excited to see Kynthia continue to grow as a leader and help guide the next chapter of the Atlanta Beltline,” said Clyde Higgs, President & CEO of Atlanta Beltline, Inc. “Her experience, institutional knowledge, and proven leadership will be tremendous assets as we move this work forward.”

Today, three trail segments and two parks are under construction, with additional projects expected to break ground soon. Nearly 80% of the 22-mile Beltline loop is complete, marking significant progress toward completing this transformative project.

“There is so much important work ahead, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with our team, partners, and communities to continue bringing the Beltline vision to life,” said Gaines. “I’m honored to take on this role at such an exciting time for the organization and build on the momentum we’ve created.”
